Women with a Misson - Jalou 22' & A Land Shaped by Women 52' This documentary film portrays a kite surfer who is a world champion, Jalou Langeree. She wants to reach the highest level in kite surfing and become an inspiration for girls and women, to take part in extreme sports. With the full support of her family Jalou puts all effort in becoming the best and in staying at the top in her sport although this is not always understood by everyone. Within the sport itself, strongly dominated by men, Jalou has to fight for the right appreciation of her performance. Her mother and brother, also a kite surfing world champion, speak in awe of her perseverance and her skills in the water. It becomes clear that Jalou is on a mission to create equality between men and women in extreme sports. A Land Shaped By Women: Iceland has been ranked first in gender equality by the U.N. nine years in a row and was the first country in the world to elect a female president. Tag along with world champion snowboarders Anne-Flore Marxer and Aline Bock as they explore the unique surf, snow, and sky of Iceland, and enjoy inspiring conversations with the women they meet along the way.
